The Refuge Citizenship Education Seminar

The Thomas Farr Charitable Trust has kindly sponsored 30 Refuge Teacher's Resource packs to be distributed to schools and youth groups in Nottinghamshire. (retail price £90 plus VAT)

The Refuge Project was launched in 2002 with 9 Nottinghamshire schools and has been extremely successful in breaking down barriers and encouraging students to think about responsibility and citizenship.

Three hundred schools are currently using the Resource Pack and the feedback we have received is very encouraging. The need for the project is critical at this present time, as it reaches out to many sectors of the community and highlights very current social issues e.g asylum seekers. It is a valuable learning tool for schools and can be actively used in Citizenship lessons to encourage and stimulate lively discussions.

In order to help you maximise the use of the resource in the present-day context, we would like to invite you to a one-day training programme at the Holocaust Centre. The Training Day is open to all schools in the UK. There will be a 60% discount on the Refuge Teacher's Resource Pack on the day of the training for non-Nottinghamshire schools.
