ANOTHER TIME, ANOTHER PLACE...

is a mobile exhibition on the history of the Holocaust, designed as an introduction suitable for adults and children age 12 upwards. It tells the story of the Holocaust topically, chronologically and personally, weaving the story of Auschwitz survivor Kitty Hart into the fabric of the text.

Mobile Exhibition: Another Time, Another Place

Suitable for Key Stage 3 upwards

What is it?

Another Time, Another Place... is a five-panel mobile exhibition using text and pictures to outline the causes and development of the Holocaust.

Each panel includes the personal experiences of Holocaust survivor Kitty Hart-Moxon, a girl of 12 at the outbreak of war.  Kitty’s story is skilfully woven into the fabric of the text, combining personal tragedy with historical facts. The final panel highlights the problems faced by survivors in attempting to rebuild their lives after the Holocaust.

Beth Shalom's Mobile ExhibitHow can it be used?

Schools: The exhibition can be used to teach the Holocaust.  It provides an invaluable opportunity for students learning about the history of the Holocaust to reflect on the experiences of one individual.

Commemorative Events: The exhibition is also an effective centrepiece in commemorative events such as Holocaust Memorial Day. It illustrates the need to support democracy and combat racism, political extremism, victimisation and indifference.

How much space does it need?

The exhibition consists of five 2m-high display panels that can be assembled very quickly. You will need a room with at least 25 square metres of floor space (5m x 5m), preferably slightly more. The panels are hinged and open up to at least 2.5m wide.
