Laxton-Kigali link-upIn 2006, the Holocaust Centre staged its first-ever live video-conferencing link. Holocaust survivor Martin Stern and local students engaged in discussion with Rwandan students and survivors at the Kigali Memorial Centre, Rwanda. The discussion was chaired in the UK by Dr Stephen Smith, Chair of the Holocaust Memorial Day Trust, and in Rwanda by Stephen Twigg, Policy Director for the Aegis Trust. The discussion can be viewed in full at www.aegistrust.org. “The Holocaust Centre doesn't have room for all the students who want to visit, but this technology enables survivors to speak to schools unable to travel.” Stephen Twigg Thanks to partnership with the University of Nottingham and a recent donation of £10,000 worth of video-conferencing equipment by Hockerill Anglo European College, that interaction is now becoming a reality. "It is a pleasure to be able to do something practical to develop the excellent work which you do." Mike Ullmann, Head of Modern Foreign Languages, Hockerill
